Landscape; it’s ordered space; atmospheric forms and rich, ephemeral colors inform my art. The narrative in my work is born from the relationship of representational and abstract elements within my world. It is both personal and tribal; history made visible. The manner in which I work is influenced by the different surfaces and textures I see everyday. “Mother Forms” derive from quick study landscape drawings I create from the window of an airplane when I travel. I juxtapose my invented "Mother Forms" with elements from the everyday world to create a new reality. My images often include thresholds or gateways making reference to universal ideas about passage and journey. |
